Aquanite's answers are in blue.

Why "Ninety Nines," exactly?
The name 'Ninety Nines' comes from an offensive term that has been coded twice over.
      why not, biotch

What sort of a style is it that you're drawing in?
The style comes from a style Aquanite had created - so Aquanite's reply will be more informative. I just do a shitty attempt at it, myself.
i just created it in 2003 back when i was thinking about starting a comic, and i wanted a quick and simple style to work with. i've just called it "eehee" style, since that's what the little retards are. "eehee" was inspired by none other than michael jackson's "eeeheeehee"

What the hell kind of creatures are Serge and Aqua?
Serge is based off of a fictional species of mine called Misneach (mish-nahk), which is, to put it simply, a malformed mix of felid and dinosaur (and bits and pieces of other things), although the creature type directly in Ninety Nines can just be referred to as an Eehee (Aqua's term).
as stated in the previous question, they are "eehees".

So your characters aren't humans, and they are 'you,' are you furries?
No. Fuck that shit. I don't think I'm an animal, I don't want to fuck animals, I don't want to dress up like an animal and walk around in public, I don't give 'scritches,' 'yiff,' or lick people, and I don't waste my money on obviously retarded and fucked up expensive commissions of bestiality (among other fucked up things) and jack off on them. Thanks a lot furries for fucking up anthropomorphic art.
another "fuck that shit" from me. unfortunately we both get this question a lot, which is pretty retarded, just because you grew up drawing animals does not mean you are a "furry". we both happen to draw a lot of animals, and our comic is based off of our characters, so what? it makes me very sad. furries are nastyass motherfuckers :((((

Why did you decide to make a comic?
Personally, some of the greatest and funniest things in my life have happened with Aqua around, and being an artist and observant of the amusing aspects of the world, it seemed like a fun way to get it out and share it. This does, of course, take the risk of airing episodes that only Aqua and I will get, but that's fine to us, LOL. Comics are a fun challenge, and I can't wait to see how it looks years from now.
we talked about it quite a few times in the past, and one day we just .. did it. we weren't expecting anything from it, it was just something fun for us to do.. the response we got was pretty crazy.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Like in the previous question, real life, mostly. The world is actually hilarious and extremely susceptible to being made fun of, and if you look at it that way and don't take the world too seriously, the world is a giant comic itself. That and being around Aqua is fuckin' hilarious, and needs to be shared. Also animals provide a great deal of inspiration. We've barely scratched the surface.
most of the comics seem to be based off of conversations and real life events that must be preserved in some way. that and a mixture of caffiene lack of sleep, which is the reason for most of mine.

When was the first official comic actually drawn?
We had talked about making a comic often, but then I got a surprise on my birthday.
      back in the gladiator days

Why do you spell words wrong, use internet terms, and use bad grammar?
Since most of the comic situations are based off of real situations, a lot of times we also include the typographical errors that happen. (Example: Dodole of whart = Doodle of what.) It's still close enough sounding when pronounced outloud that it's not really hard to see what it is. Also like that are 'raep,' 'tiem,' 'loev,' 'biet,' 'cawk.' At first it's like, "Wtf, can they not spell?" But when you read it in your mind and say it outloud, it sounds exactly the same so... why the fuck not? LOL. Makes no difference really other than the fact it really lays a heavy playful atmosphere over the comic instead of sounding pompous and serious, like something sophisticated and laying down lines like they assume it's witty, when there's probably a huge chance it's not, so it just sounds poorly conceived. This way we can joke and instantly sound poorly conceived, but sound like we did it on purpose! Although if you do have problems comprehending, you can refer to our Dictionary Of Seemingly Nonsensical Terms.
why not? we aren't a super serious comic, and the "errors" add to the random hilarity.

What does ____ mean in episode ____? [And other questions similar.]
In the forum, there is usually a thread for each aired comic, giving a little extra information and either answering your question already, or you can go in and ask, and we'll be glad to answer.
if you don't understand, either ask us or just stfu

Are Pooky, Sinbad, Pants, and Beepbeep based on real animals?
Pooky's my real life fatass cat, yes.
Sinbad and Beep are my real life birds, a blue fronted amazon and an american goldfinch. unfortunately mr. Pants doesn't [yet] exist. :(

Who updates on Monday and who is on Thursday?
I'm on Thursday, the more deformed episodes.
i'm on mondays, the ones that look like shit

What is your comic making process?
For me, I sketch out an idea on paper, usually not fleshed out, just facial expressions and key items and body parts and words (sometimes JUST words). Then I scan it, and bring it into Photoshop and flesh it out into what is aired. Simple inking, colouring, and shading.
      i just do it

What is your policy on cameos?
If you happened to be involved with something worth making fun of, then it'll just play out on it's own.
i second serge. we'll do it as long as it is funny

Do you think being offensive and using offensive words is funny?
We love Drawn Together, I think that sums that up pretty well. Can't waste your time getting your panties in a twist. I'd rather laugh than get pissed off - it's healthier, too.
yes, why should we censor ourselves just because other people are overly sensitive and get ~*~hurt~*~. get the fuck over it. if you get offended over something in our comic, you are not ready for the internet.

Why isn't the sky orange and why are the fireflies eating my spaghetti?
Because Aqua bought the rights to the colour blue from Jesus, and L. Ron Hubbard doesn't want you to have your spaghetti.
Because bloo is superior and spaghetti is whack.
